How do I provide feedback on my cleaning?

We encourage our customers to provide feedback to us, as we feel that open and honest communication is the key to a successful client relationship. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, you can contact us by phone or email any time. If you miss us or call after hours, don’t worry—we’ll get back to you right away.

What if I am not satisfied with my cleaning?

We want you to be completely happy every time we clean your home, and so we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If an area was missed or you are not satisfied for any reason, please notify us within 24 hours of the cleaning and we will send the team back to your house to correct the problem—at our expense. At Scout, superior customer service is standard. We regularly ask customers for performance feedback evaluations because if our clients are not satisfied with our services, we’re not satisfied.

What if something in my home gets broken?

Our maid staff is incredibly careful while cleaning your home, and in fact, we have an exemplary track record of not breaking things. However, accidents do happen. If something in your house is broken by one of our employees, we will repair or replace the item. Insurance claims will be filed when appropriate. Please notify us within 48 hours of the cleaning date if an accident occurs.

What kind of cleaning products do you use?

In an effort to be an eco-friendly cleaner we use BOULDER CLEANERS, a product line that is certified by Green Seal, Ecologo, and Designed for the Environment (a program sponsored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency). BOULDER CLEANERS products reduce pollution and the risks associated with chemical usage and disposal. The company, too, is committed to the environment and seeks to reduce their own water usage and energy consumption while creating a sustainable development practice in their attainment of palm and coconut oils. BOULDER CLEANERS also uses only recyclable packaging. Although our commitment to being green cleaners is important to us, just as equally important is supporting local business. What does it mean to be an eco-friendly cleaning service?

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines green cleaning products as those that have positive environmental attributes, such as biodegradability, low toxicity, low volatile organic compound content, reduced packaging, and low life cycle energy use. This includes products that have minimal corrosive substances, human carcinogens, toxicants, ozone-depleting compounds, and other hazardous ingredients—and instead use renewable resources, such as bio-based solvents from citrus, seed, vegetable, and pine oils.

Scout strives to adhere to these green principles. Also, many of our cleaners use High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter vacuum cleaners, which trap fine particles such as pollen and dust mite feces, which diminish indoor air quality and can trigger allergy and asthma symptoms. So you can breathe easy knowing Scout is looking out for your health as well as the cleanliness of your home.

Because Scout Cleaning is a green cleaning company, are you more expensive than other maid services or house cleaners in Denver and Boulder?

No, our pricing is very competitive with other house cleaners in the Denver and Boulder area. The products we use are more expensive, but we are professionally managed and extremely efficient, which helps us to keep prices down. What should we do with our pets while you are cleaning our home?

Most of our clients have pets. Our employees love pets and are happy to have them around, as long as the pets feel the same way! Before we start cleaning your home, we’d like to meet your pets first, if possible, so they are familiar with us when we arrive for our first clean.

Is Scout Cleaning a franchise?

No, Scout Cleaning is a locally owned and operated company.

How and when do I pay for my cleaning service?

We want to make your experience with us as easy as possible, so you never have to worry about leaving us cash or a check for your service. We bill you on a monthly basis (between the 5th and the 10th of each month) for the prior month’s services, and we also offer an auto-payment option whereby we bill you through your credit or debit card. We email your statement to you each month, which details the dates of service.

What days and hours do you work?

Our normal work days are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Arrangements can be made for Saturday and Sunday should you have special cleaning requirements, such as before/after party clean-up or move in/move out cleans.

What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?

If your schedule cleaning falls on a holiday that we observe, we will contact you to make alternative arrangements.

What are your prices/rates?

Once we know a few details, such as the size of your home, its condition, whether you have pets, and a little about your needs and lifestyle, we will provide you a custom, detailed quote. How many people will clean my home?

The size of the team depends on the size of your home and its condition. For smaller homes, we send one person. The most common team size is two members. For larger homes or jobs, we use two to four people, one of which is the team supervisor.

Will I have the same cleaning professionals each visit?

We make every effort to send the same team each time. We know how important it is to have someone you know and trust cleaning your home. However, occasionally we make substitutions due to vacations or illness.

What if I would like something cleaned that is not part of your regular service?

Is it okay to leave special instructions on a note?

Absolutely. In striving to maintain a good relationship with our clients, we feel that communication is critical. We will give you a Scout magnetic notepad for this very purpose. Please use this notepad to let us know if you want us to pay special attention to an area during a cleaning, or to offer suggestions, compliments, or complaints. Do you provide your own cleaning products and supplies?

Yes. Your cleaning fee includes the cost of supplies and the use of our equipment. Some clients have particular wishes when it comes to cleaning certain pieces of furniture or areas. If you prefer that we use one of your products for a particular application, just let us know.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed, insured, and bonded. If you’d like to see proof of our insurance and bonding during your in-home consultation, please ask. Bonding is insurance that protects and compensates you if a Scout employee were ever to be guilty of theft. Liability insurance protects you and covers the cost of repairs for any damages to your home or property if caused by a Scout employee.

What towns do you service?

Because Scout operates out of two offices, Boulder and Denver, we cover most parts of the Denver/Boulder metro area. Our Denver location services Aurora, Castle Rock, Centennial, Commerce City, Denver, Englewood, Evergreen, Golden, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Littleton, and Wheat Ridge. Our Boulder location services Arvada, Boulder, Broomfield, Erie, Gunbarrel, Lafayette, Longmont, Louisville, Niwot, Superior, Thornton, and Westminster.

Is a long-term contract required for home cleaning service?

Not at all. Scout is happy to earn your business any time you want to use us. We do offer regular cleaning programs for those who want to enjoy our services on a regular basis, or you can just call to schedule as needed.
